The Bruins tied it twice in the second period…but one was hit with a Phil Kessel high stick for no goal. The second was set up by Kessel and Milan lucic with Marc Savard holding and holding to get Cam Ward down and out and finally putting high over Ward for the real 1-1 tie.
Kessel’s assist on Savard’s goal extended his point scoring streak to 17 games with 14 goals and 12 assists in that span. That ties Raymond Bourque’s 17-game point streak as the fifth longest in Bruin history. It’s the longest streak since Adam Oates had points in 20 straight games back in January-February of 1997. At 8:47 Patrice Bergeron collided at center ice with Hurricane Dennis Seidenberg with his head coming in contact with Seidenberg’s shoulder and it was like October 12, 2007 all over again as Bergeron lay motionless at center ice. He did get up and leave the ice aided but under his own power. Scary stuff once again for Patrice.Meanwhile, have I mentioned that Manny Fernandez is again outstanding in goal for the B’s. 21 saves over the first two periods and many of them solid chances. After two periods, Hurricanes and Bruins are tied at 1.
