Montreal Wants Chara! I say Suck it!

You just know June 15th boiled the blood of the fans, police, and certainly the prosecuters in Montreal. In case you’ve been living in a cave for the past 4 months or so, June 15 was the last game of the National Hockey League season. And I’m sure the aforemention Quebecois’ hated the result of what happened on the ice that night in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Little did we know that as the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins – sounds nice doesn’t it – were celebrating, the gendarmes were plotting a way to get Bruins Captain Zdeno Chara into a Montreal courtroom to have an interview about the now infamous- Max Pacioretty into the stanchion-incident!

Montreal police say charges against Chara have still not been ruled out as they prepare to speak to him in the coming weeks. They were in no rush to talk with Chara when the Bruins played the Canadiens in the first round of the playoffs and I’m sure, had the Canadiens won that series, nothing more would probably be said.

But a funny thing happened on the way to winning the Stanley Cup. Sacre Bleu! The investigation continues now some three-plus months later!

Really. Are there no murder, larcenies, muggings, drug dealings or any other crime that may have more importance than ANYTHING that happens in a hockey game?
Incredible and beyond comprehension. This is grand standing at its best. Also, I’m no lawyer, but if Pacioretty is not pressing charges for “assault”, isn’t this a non-issue?

Well, my thinking is that if, and I hope that’s a big if, Zdeno Chara decides to interrupt his summer with his family to placate the morons, oh sorry, the prosecutors in Montreal, he should lobby for an extra day with Lord Stanley’s Cup and carry it around the Canadian City all the way to Police Headquarters and tell them to take their investigation and stick it!
